Mock data generator
Mock data your front end can believe.
Misata generates mock data as one connected dataset and exports it in the shapes a front end or API needs: JSON and JSON Lines, a ready mock API bundle, an OpenAPI description, TypeScript types, a JSON Schema, Prisma and SQLAlchemy models. Because the records come from one dataset, a user's orders really are that user's orders on every screen.

What usually goes wrong
Mock data lets a front end, a prototype or an API client be built and tested before the real back end is ready.
Hand-written JSON
Twenty records typed by hand, then every screen shows the same three users.
Mocks that disagree
The list endpoint and the detail endpoint return different people for the same ID.
Types out of sync
The mock drifts from the interface and the bug shows up only against the real API.
What you get instead
One source of truth
Every export comes from the same tables, so IDs agree across endpoints.
Types included
TypeScript, JSON Schema, OpenAPI, Prisma and SQLAlchemy generated with the data.
Volume when you need it
From a dozen records for a story to 100,000 rows for a load test.
A request that works
Mock data for a project management app: workspaces, members, projects, tasks with assignees and due dates, and comments, about 2,000 tasks.
Four ways to get it
In your browser
Describe it in Misata Studio, shape it, and export. Two complete builds a month are free.

Questions
Which formats can mock data be exported in?
JSON, JSON Lines, CSV, Excel, Parquet, SQL, SQLite and DuckDB for data, plus a mock API bundle, OpenAPI, TypeScript types, JSON Schema, Prisma, SQLAlchemy and Django models, dbt and data-quality expectations. Twenty-five formats in all.
Can my coding assistant generate mock data?
Yes. Connect the Misata MCP server to Claude Code, Cursor or VS Code and ask for the data; the assistant designs the tables and exports the format you need, with a download link.
Is it free?
The twelve sample databases are free to download with no signup, under CC0. Misata Studio gives every account 20 credits a month, which is two complete builds, with no card. The MCP server needs no key or account for datasets the assistant designs itself, and the Python library is open source under MIT.
Is any of it real data?
No. Every row is generated from a specification. Nothing is copied from, sampled from or trained on a real dataset, so there is no personal data in it and nothing to scrub.
